Primary school teacher Maria (Saoirse Ronan) is doing her best to inspire her class but is stifled by one chaotic student. Frustrated and with her career in question, a night of bad decisions leads her to accidentally locking this “bad apple” up in her home. Initially terrified of the consequences, she suddenly finds herself in an odd predicament when the moods of the children, parents, and staff alike all improve in his absence.
