Samhain at Swift 2026 Launch

Sat 24 October – Wed 4 November 2026

An Open Exhibition Celebrating Myth, Magic and the Spirit of Samhain

This autumn, Swift Cultural Centre invites audiences to step into a world of folklore, imagination and artistic discovery with Samhain at Swift 2026, a vibrant open exhibition presented as part of the annual Púca Festival. The exhibition runs from Saturday 24 October to Wednesday 4 November 2026 and showcases a diverse collection of work by local artists inspired by the ancient traditions, stories and landscapes that continue to shape Ireland's cultural identity.

Exploring themes of the night, the wild, the ancient, the festive, the mythical and the magical, the exhibition brings together artists whose work responds to the rich lore, legends and land of our ancient county and island.. Through painting, photography, print, sculpture, mixed media and contemporary visual practice, visitors are invited to experience Samhain through fresh creative perspectives while reflecting on the origins of Halloween and Ireland's enduring storytelling traditions.

Exhibition Launch: Sat 24 October 2026, 2:30pm

Join us for the official Exhibition Launch on Saturday 24 October at 2.30pm, when artists, audiences and the local community come together to celebrate the opening of this year's exhibition.

The launch offers a unique opportunity to be among the first to experience the exhibition, meet participating artists and explore the wide range of creative responses inspired by the season of Samhain. Set against the backdrop of the Púca Festival, the opening event marks the beginning of a special period in Trim when mythology, heritage, art and contemporary culture intersect.
